MORE THAN JUST ROE: THE SUPREME COURT AND REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS

WRITING 220, APRIL 2020

Have you ever wondered why abortion is such a prominent, controversial topic in the United States? Or what the history of reproductive rights looks like? Written in the style of an educational Youtube video, this screenplay discusses four landmark Supreme Court cases regarding reproductive rights. Additionally, this piece was the final product of my fully realized experiment for my Writing 220 course.

In the face of an unprecedented world pandemic, many may find themselves asking: What now? This personal narrative style piece explores the emotions associated with lingering uncertainty, while at the same time, illustrates the importance of gratitude.

THE FEMINIST DISEASE

Written as a letter to friends and family, this satirical piece explores the concept of feminism while critiquing common anti-feminist sentiment. This article was additionally used as my origin piece in my Writing 220 class, inspiring the progression of all experimental projects that followed.

THE OFF-PUTTING MERCHANDISING OF MENTAL ILLNESS

THE MICHIGAN FASHION MEDIA SUMMIT, OCTOBER 2019

In recent years, many fashion companies have worked to make mental illness a fashion trend, profiting off of this glamorization and belittling the severity of the topic matter. This piece explores examples of prominent brands doing so, while discussing what changes must be made going forward.
